Sent to a friend[13057] Wal-Mart Pharmacy - Refuse to give Medication to two sick child
i had gone into the pharmacy to drop both of my childrens perscriptions with their medicaid. When i went to pick the medicine up they had told me that their medicaid was terminated when i had their current card in my hand and spoke to the manager Kathy and they said that their computers had not caught up to their medicaid yet even though i had the current card in my hand and would not give me their medicine. Their medicaid went into affect on Decemer 01,2009 and i went to pick the medication up on December 28,2009, so i do not understand why the computer has not caught up yet??? The manager Kathy was very rude to me when i was trying to understand what the problem was because if my daughter did not get her meds that night she would be hospitalized. She then told me that there was nothing that she could do about it even though i have current medicaid on both of them. The store number is 0383. I will never again take mine or anyone in my family or extended families medications there anymore.Thank you, Brittany Hansen

- I'm sure that you, like most people, have no idea how pharmacies process insurance claims, but this is all on Medicaid's side. All insurance claims are done in real-time in most pharmacies (all Wal-Marts), with the decision whether or not to pay the claim made at the time of service. If Medicaid isn't going to pay WM for whateve reason, guess what, they aren't going to give it to you at your usual copay. It's your responsibility to call Medicaid and find out what the problem is.
And there is nothing saying that you couldn't have paid out of pocket for the medicine; your title is misleading. Wal-Mart refused to give them to you for free, but they would have been happy to sell them to you.
