[14006] ebay - did not send item ordered after payment processed

I ordered an item, paid immediately, and my credit card processed the payment.

Then, I was told via email to pay again. I told ebay several times that I had paid.

I was told to finalize order. I emailed ebay, explaining that I had already done so, and that full payment had already occurred.

Emails from ebay said that they did not understand what my problem was, although every contact from me during the two weeks I tried to resolve the issue contained a full description of my actions and full copies of the emails from ebay (i.e.,asking for payment or for "finalizing the offer" or asking whether I wanted to cancel the order). What I wanted, I repeatedly asserted, was to receive what I had ordered and had, weeks ago, paid for.

Repeated emails resulted in numerous robotic non-responses from ebay. I finally telephoned paypal, which company connected me by telephone to ebay customer service. (It is not possible to telephone ebay CS directly.) Ebay told me that they would "contact the seller," and that I should allow seven days to receive the order. That same day, against my wishes, ebay cancelled my order, and I got a refund on my credit card. I discovered that only by going to the ebay site and checking the order's status.

Since, I've been contacted by the seller telling me that he doesn't understand what my problem is, (although I provided complete details with every contact) and then he added that he "appreciates my business." (HA!)

My ebay experience resulted in a huge number of wasted hours and too much wasted effort.

Because I got a refund, I was luckier than several of my friends, who've lost money they spent on ebay.

It is outrageous that ebay has no real method to initiate contact with customer service. Their email contact is useless.

Don't buy on ebay.
