Sent to a friend[14175] Dr. James Avellini, M.D. - Bad Doctor
I was a patient of Dr. James Avellini, M.D.I paid him for a SmartLipo procedure, since that was his self-proclaimed forte.
When I was waiting in his O/R room for an hour recovery, I noticed there was no SmartLipo machine in the room and when I questioned his nurse, she said that he used some other device. I then confronted he told me that he felt a more traditional approach would be better, and that in fact he does have a SmartLipo machine anymore & that I would love the results all the same.
Weeks later after my surgery, I noticed that the fat I had in my abdomen was not only still there, but there was pits indented in my stomach.
When I met with Dr. James Avellini for a post-op consultation 2 weeks later, I told him I was very upset and asked him why do I still look fat & indented! He then proceeded to lie to me & said that I look great & that some patients expectations you just can't please.
I then requested another treatment with the SmartLipo that I signed for or a partial refund. He refused & said that he is finished with me & that he would see me for another post-op in 3 months in which I would see the results I was looking for.
It's been 4 months now & he is no where to be found. I the seen him on MyFoxNy.com known as the "Bothched Laser Doctor", where he burned a patient & left her high & dry! When Fox News got a hold of him they also uncovered that he has been also lying to patients in that he was not a "Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon".
I now know why I can't find him and that I am just one of many with a malpractice suit against Dr. James Avellini, M.D.!
If anyone knows the where-abouts of this "Quack", please post.

Posted 1 year agoReport - We are always willing to address any issues that a patient may have, and will be more than happy to continue to do so. We have simply relocated to 1736 Shore Pkwy, Brooklyn NY 11214, phone #718 372-0237.
Unfortunately, there are some false statements that "Patient Jane" made, and I truly wish that you would call the office and allow us to treat you, (if in fact you even are a patient).
I am also disappointed that any party would make false statements about "malpractice suits", when in fact there are none. This would be public information which could be found on the NYS Unified Court System, has it been true.
Occasionally competitors use this forum to make disparaging remarks, and adversely affect a doctor's business, because they know that this forum does not remove posts, even if they are found to be untrue.
We look forward to treating each and every one of our patients, and strive to achieve patient satisfaction.

Posted 1 year agoReport - He is on Shore Parkway in Brooklyn, his phone # is 718-372-0287. My sister is there right now & I told her to get out of there after reading all of these posts. Her 1st SmartLipo procedure was botched & she is worried that she will lose her $4,000.

Posted 1 year agoReport - Dr. James Avellini abandoned his business in the two Brooklyn locations and now owns Pure Skin Medical PC in Staten Island, NY. His new office # is 718 447 7546, so call him to get your revisions, or your refunds. If you don't get any resolution, then contact the OPMC in Albany NY. Go to this website, and they will gladly help you resolve your issues with him.

Posted 1 year agoReport - I too had smartlipo by Dr. Avellini...twice! And there is still no improvement. So he told me to make an appointment AGAIN! I am paying $8000 for surgery that i am not satisfied. I'm trying to get help,I need to know what to do to resolve this issue. I don't want him to do anything on me!

a critical surgery -- his out-of-pocket expenses for post surgery care or other surgery costs not covered by Medicare.
