Sent to a friend I will NEVER use United Airlines, again! After eight calls to their customer service department lasting about an hour each, because we had to start over with each call because apparently they don't take notes on the calls, we make plans to change our fight to leave early so that we can go to my grandfather's funeral, which they "charged" us an additional $1200 to change. On the day of our flight we arrive about 45 minutes prior to boarding, which was 6:00am, to find that there was no record of our payment and the lady behind the desk needed to "call" to see about the status of our plans. She decides to yell at us for not arriving at least 90 minutes early for the flight and tells us there is no way we are getting on this flight since we are late, even though about five people come to the counter and check in for the flight up until ten minutes before the flight was scheduled to leave. She offers us an additional fee and a flight at 4:30 in which we may or may not have been able to get a connecting flight in Denver and maybe arrive at our destination at 11:30 pm, a full twelve hours after our original arrival time. And the lady's explanation for this all... "we need you to always arrive at least 90 minutes early to check in (so they can make sure they didn't f*#k you up on your flight and if they did so they have enough time to fix it) and that the customer service for United Airlines are not even United employees ANC that they have no control over the planning, changing and status of our flight (So what the heck do they do and why in the world do they give you the option of paying over the phone?!) Needless to say this family will NEVER use United Airlines, ever again and I WILL be telling everybody who will listen about my experience, hopefully to save at least someone the headache of going through what we did.ÂPosted 1 year ago
