I am new to the list and I find a need to make breeders aware of a situation I am involved in....I purchased a kitten from Linda of Topcattery of California, where she guarranted me in writing that the male pursian that I was interested in buying was PKD negative...
After sending all monies to Linda she informed me that she would not send my paperwork on my purchased kitten until additional monies be sent her to cover misfigured airline expense(on Lindas part)...I had already paid her the asking price plus all air fare expenses she had requested, but she held my paperwork on my kitten until I paid her an additional charge.
I intern received this kitten, who is a beautiful blue tabby male, sent in to Gribbles, as I always do, to have his PKD testing done, only to be shocked to find out that he is positive.
I contacted Topcattery, requesting again, a copy of this boys parents PKD papers of which to this day I have yet to receive. She advised me to sell him, and not make the buyer aware of his PKD positive results, I could not do this with a clear concience as I strongly do not agree with that type of breeders tactics.
Linda found a buyer for this kitten, but she deliberatly misled the buyer about the PKD results, as she did me...now she is advertising him on her site , as available for sale, under the Available Adults link on her homepage.... .she is advertising this cat as his parents being negative.
I went so far as to have him retested a second time thru UC Davis Laboratory, and the results were the same....
at first she appeared to be surprised as to this turn of events, and offered to work with me to resolve the problem, I do not want another kitten from her cattery as I feel she is deceitful to her clients....I still have this cat in my cattery and he is registered to me, and the only solution is to get my money back, but according to Linda, money is not available for refund ....even though she put in writing that I could have my money back, as she knew I did not want any positive kittens.
I am willing to work with her on this, but when she posted this boy on her site again that his parents are PKD negative , and is asking more that I paid for him, this just goes against my principles. If she has done this to me, how many others has this been done too.
Linda told the interested buyer from New York that I had to part with him for personal reasons, that was completely a lie, as I have a cattery that I am building new....and will only breed PKD negative kittens. She sold this cat to me, and if I would have bred him without testing him first, and taken her at only her word....I would have had positive kittens with my first litter on the ground and my reputation would have been ruined before I even got started.
She was aware up front of my opinions on this issue and sold him to me deliberatly as a neg cat when indeed she new he was not....his father is positive.
Thank you for your time in reading this...I hope I have helped someone else from making the same mistake that I did by dealing with Topcattery.

Posted 1 year agoReport - I was planning to buy an adorable kitten from Topcattery, now I am very suspicious. After picking one from photos Linda said, "OK, we have a deal. I'm putting a sold sign on him."
I was a little bit wary buying from Topcattery after reading the above review, so I said I'd mail her a check as soon as she faxed the parent's PKD certificates. (I'm not experienced buying from a breeder.)
Well, I didn't hear back from her after that.
After leaving one message I got a hold of her by phone. She said the kitten SOLD. I'm suspicious it sold immediately after I asked for some paperwork. Very, very suspicious.
Posted 1 year agoReport - One more thing to add to the above comment: Linda Pizani of Topcattery was also supposed to send a copy of the contract, before I sent the check. Days later after she backed out claiming the kitten had suddenly sold, I confronted her with the fact we made a very clear verbal agreement. She said something to the effect, "No, there was no money...you were hung up on getting paperwork which I didn't have readily on hand."
So I ask, what buyer sends a complete stranger a check in the mail without even SEEING some sort of contract, and other pertinent papers? Especially one with complaints. What breeder is hesitant to hand these papers over? Very shady dealings indeed. And if the worst is true, the biggest victims are the cats who may suffer from health problems down the road.

Posted 1 year agoReport - Make sure to ask for a vet health certificate from this breeder for ringworm and upper respitory, she is famous for selling sick kittens as she did to us, the kitten died, she could care less. She is all about the money. There are good honest reputable breeders that will give you your money back as happy repeat clients are more important if you are not completely satisfied & wont hesitate to take their kitten or cat back as well. Dont fall for the glitz & glamour she puts on her site, its as phony & fake as she is. Asking for and getting negative pkd reports on a kitten or cat & their parents is expected, anyone not willing to send them to you right away is hiding something. Buyer beware of this person.
Posted 1 year agoReport - CAT KILLERS: My brown tabby that just turned 2 this May just passed away this morning. We paid Linda Pisani of Top Cattery 1,800 for her. She claims that her kittens are the healthiest and that's why she charges such an enormous amount for her kittens. She's a liar! We found out that she died from a genetic condition. Extremely high triglycerides that caused fatty tissues to develop around her heart that caused pressure against the trachea that caused her to have severe breathing problems (open mouth breathing with her head tilted up and her tongue out continuously, sneezing constantly all day and through the night), couldn't sleep because of her breathing, along with other painful side effects such as seizures, couldn't walk anymore because her muscle enzymes were at 985 and normal is 110, couldn't eat or drink anymore because she had no way of swallowing anything anymore, which caused massive weight loss and no energy, and then her poor little suffering body went into cardiac arrest. We also bought another male red persian from her friend Kit Colato from Reno, Nevada at kitzpawspersians. Our boy has a list of complications. He was sold to us with ring worm, and his insides are all messed up. Linda Pisani and Kit Colato are cat killers and have no business breeding cats. I will be searching for anything and everything to blow the whistle on these two and warn people about these freaks!
