Sent to a friend[9750] magic jack - overcharged my card & crashed my computer
the phone, when it works, is great. it has a tendency to crash your computer, though. i tried it on 4 different computers and each one crashed until we took out the mj. i finally got it to work after 2 weeks of almost daily emails back and forth (they have no live folks, just live chat with service reps that haven't got a clue!)now, i tried to sign up for international calling and they charged me 5!!!!! times for the same order and then told me the credit card company had declined my card so i had no credit with magic jack. i called the cc company and they said the charges had been approved. i've sent the mandatory dispute letter to the cc company but the whole deal was a pain in the neck. all the while, mj was blaming the cc company!
like i said, the service, when it works, is great. but, i'm not sure the frustration is worth it!

Posted 2 years agoReport - I have a Magic Jack, and it works fine. No crashing of my computer. You do need to reset your modem AT LEAST once a month. If you want to connect to multiple phones in your house, you will need to purchase a ring voltage booster. Cost is about $130... $20 for a year of phone service over $40 per month for Verizon is not even a question to be asked. Verizon sucks!
